I can't swear by it, but I was pretty sure the Tuffy's had 1/4 aluminum plate under the seat pedestals standard. I am sure they did after 2004 redesigns. I will check, as Steve Worrall is at the outing.

OK, aluminum plates were used in every boat made from about 1993 to present.

Use 1 1/2" long screws. Turn the base so you can drill fresh holes.
