bryan, just put a quick plate on your boat and use both. i use a cable or an auto depending on situation. i find myself with the auto mostly but love the ability to 1. have a spare and 2. be able to have a cable if i need one.
i'm considering this one and the new motorguide … both with some interesting features vs. what was previously. will still want base plate compatibility for the ability to travel with a spare though, cuz you just never know when you might need one. |
