Hey Dan,

I don't run a 4-stroke, but do run an HPDI 200. I can't say enough about the engine. I have no complaints whatsoever. It' smooth, fuel efficient, and good on oil. It's fires first turn of the key, even in very cold weather. The newer HPDI 200's, the V-Max line, are built from a bigger block and have a few tweaks from the 2001 I'm running. I've heard good things about them as well.

I have heard great things about the 4-strokes, but never run one. To help out more, what boat are you hanging this on? I assume you're looking into an multi-species hull, some kind of deep v? Probaly why you're looking at a 4-stroke?
