Location: Madison, WI		I have HDS-9 touches on the front and console networked together via the Ethernet cable that Lowrance has. Pretty simple actually.

You'll need the LSS-2 side scan and the regular transducer for the one on the dash, and you can connect the front one directly to your trolling motor transducer.

Sounds like you won't need to buy the one with the transducer unless the HDS 8 doesn't use the same type of transducer as the 7. Don't think it changes though.
