There are guys here that know a lot more about this stuff and will likely chime in, but if your new battery is a cranking only that could be part of your problem. When you but electronics and other accessories on it that drain it it may lack the voltage necessary to start it. As for the clicking noises from both I don't know. And on a new battery like that sulfation shouldn't have taken hold already.
