Location: minocqua, wi. | the keel protector keeps you from destroying your gelcoat, so when the keel protector fails (and many do), then you get to destroy the whole area underneath it while removing the glue and then replace the now compromised glass with another one and repeat.
my 20 year old glass boat has never had one on and is not compromise and won't be while being used in the same manner as i used a boat with a keel guard that i got to replace twice … never again.
keel guards are like the extra rust-proofing you can pay up for after buying a car … sometimes they look cool and that's about it. |
