I have been considering the 360 as well. First, I bought my Humminbird's last year and hope to get the 360 later this year. I shopped for the HB's at 3 different places. All the salesmen I talked to said to absolutely not go smaller than the 898 size screen, the 798 was simply too small to get the read and definition you need for 360. I bought 998's and have been learning side imaging, and I would agree I would not want to go much smaller - at least the rear unit at the helm. 898's would probably be the minimum size IMHO.

Or go with 2 798 's for 1/2 the price of an Onix. Dedicate one for whatever imaging you are doing and mapping on the other. Just saying. Don't get me wrong. I have a 1199ci HD SI Combo and a 959ci HD Combo both hooked up to the I pilot Link. But if I was concerned with the $$$ I would not be afraid to the 798. They are great units, just smaller for my aging eyes.
