I talked to another Alumacraft owner and he said check the fuse under the switch panel on the dash. I took the entire panel out and sure enough there is a 5 amp fuse in there. (buried in a pile of wires, what a dumb spot to hide a fuse ) He suggested replacing with a 10 amp fuse. I did and it now works.
