Are you leaving your gas cap off in torrential down pours? Fact is water in gas is bad whether it is non oxy or oxy fuel. Water actually seperates immediately from non ethanol gas and goes to the bottom of your tank. Ethanol holds onto the water for a while until it reaches a saturation point where it will seperate out and go to the bottom of your tank. Actually a better deal for your tank unless you hit the saturation point. If you are reaching the point of phase seperation in ethanol or enough water in your non ethanol fuel to cause issues you have bigger problems at hand with your fuel system or gas station.

Again how many true phase separation issues occur vs. just plain old water in your non oxy gas issues? It's just another thing that people like to point to, when in reality it's not any more of a problem than it used to be before 10% ethanol fuel.

Like I said earlier there are plenty of debatable points over ethanol. I'm just sick of a lot of mechanics using it as a crutch for issues they don't want to take the time to diagnose or even understand. When in doubt blame ethanol.
