There is a huge difference in running ethanol in motors that get 1000+ hours a year and the average fisherman who probably averages under 100. Ethanol will absorb water and phase separate in the gas. The longer the gas is in the tank, the more likely it is going to happen. Same reason that you don't hear as many issues with ethanol in cars, the gas is in the tank for a week or two at most. I am lucky if I run 3 tanks of gas through my motor in year.
