I will only use my trolling motor batters for the trolling motor. I run all my electronics to my starting battery, both standard boat electronics and my toys (2 fish finders, GPS tablet, 2 smart phones, LED running lights). I upgraded it to an Optima Blue and went with the biggest that would fit. I've heard great things about the Die Hard Marine batteries too. I always charge/trickle it when not using and have never had a failure or ran it dry.
