They work well while under power... Sitting still they aren't any good. Knowing how to adjust the settings properly is critical. It reads a swath of the bottom rather than a cone, you just have to keep that in mind while interpreting what you're seeing on the screen. I'm used to mine by now, but still prefer a classic unit.
X2- I bought one for the front of my boat, and realized it's not a good fit. You have to be moving pretty good, 1mph+, for it to work well. I moved it to the back of the boat (tiller) and have been happy with it. |
