Could be the one bank is bad for the starting battery. As for the TM batteries. Newer chargers have different charging profiles, depending on battery technology. Wet-Cell, AGM, and Spiral technology have different profiles, and the old chargers are not up to the new batteries.

MinnKota has come out with a couple new lines of chargers. Digital and Precision series. Much smaller footprint and weight than the old MK series. The digital series is 10A per bank, and the Precision is 15A per bank. Digital control, and lots of features. Check them out.

Can't go wrong with Guest or Dual Pro, either.
