Subject: 1996 Ranger 690 Trailer Question

Hello all,

I am looking at buying a 1996 690 VS and need some options to shorten it's foot print in my garage. I measured 24'-6" OAL with the motor trimmed and supported be the transom saver. I get 23'-6" to my garage door. It looks like I can move the winch assembly ahead a few inches and I'm guessing trimming the motor down will help by another 4"-6". Ultimately I think it will take a swing away tongue to reasonably fit. The problem is the trailer does't look compatible with a break way hinge due to the side rails extending within ~16" or so of the coupler. This trailer also has the surge brake actuator. Any advice?
