If you can find a 898 it has the good transducer. the 899 does not, however you can send it in and upgrade to the better transducer for 50 bucks i believe.

I don't like the idea of turning the unit around cause in return it still isn't where you need it (your going to have to turn your body around to look at it). Your best bet is to get two units. I would think a 998 at console and say a 859 (down image only) unit up front. Even if you can only buy one now and save up for the winter months to buy the second one.
