Ok, thanks guys, great info as usual. Im curious about 2 things:
First, the motor hitting as a boat is trailered seems like a major design flaw. I see so many terrova/powerdrive TM's on tin boats like mine that im having a hard time wrapping my head around this issue. Is this confined to glass boats? I have a lund mr pike 17, there has to be a dozen people around who have virtually this identical setup--if any of you have this setup could you weigh in with regards to the motor hitting the winch tower during trailering? Im not too keen on having to take the motor off every time i trailer the boat.
Second, I think i remember somewhere hearing that the motor can be difficult to pull out of the water, and that some people use an aftermarket cable/grip thngy to pull it out of the water more easily. I fish a lot of shallow water as well as deep and find that i sometimes want to pull the motor out of the water quickly to clear a rock, weeds, stump, etc. Anyone have thoughts on this?

Thanks!!
