My dad's boat has a Minn Kota motorized steering motor and it is really slow to turn, drives me nuts when I try to run his motor. That was the main reason I selected cable steering when I bought my boat.

I have read the advertising claims that the Xi5 turns a lot faster than the Minn Kota's. I have a Motor Guide Tour Edition trolling motor now and it is by far the best motor I've ever owned.....or used. My friend's always comment that my motor is quieter than theirs when they fish with me.

Planning to order a new boat next year, maybe I'll give the Xi5 a try.
