| I have a 2002 185tx 60hp 4stk m it does 34 mph loaded with two aboard , I bought it used in 2010 from a friend who fished it since new in Missouri , Minnesota and Canada as well as AZ . It is a great little boat I use it from my home in Phoenix to fish crappie bass and stripers all over Az , Utah & New Mexico . I do not use it on Lake Powell which is similar to Mille Lacs Lake in weather and wind. For me it allows me to reach the water when drought has made ramps unusable its light weight allows me to traverse open desert to launch and it tows if need be with a Toyota Camry . A friend of mine sold his alumacraft and bought a tracker 16 same boat as the 175 just smaller he uses it in the lake's around Brainerd Minnesota and to fish the upper Mississippi River . In short they are durable easy to fish out of, but not as good for larger water. A far as unstable, hogwash I fish out of the front using 4 poles spider rigged in all kinds of water no problem granted a deep v has more freeboard. My buddies Alumicraft rocked easier than his tracker . It is a good first or second or fiftieth boat for the purpose I defined . For general fishing with no limitations in Minnesota I use my 2060 , 250 xs . I could never pull it thru the desert or over a sandbar like I can the 185 but for Mille lacs and LOW much better. So If you are realistic about your expectations for the use of the 175 it should be a great boat for you .
