Location: Minnesota		both make good units I wanted to link every thing together so I went with birds .the navionics card works in the birds but you do need the lake maps card to run the trolling motor.on the other hand I thought I heard that lowrance made a deal with motor guide to do the same thing as Johnson outdoors did. unless you get a good deal I would wait till spring to find out what there coming out with for next year
