Subject: Recarpeting a Boat the correct way

Hopefully someone can help me, I am debating buying a Tuffy 1700 Renegade and it needs to be cleaned and Re Carpeted. I have in the past worked on many boats but they were all Aluminum Boats, this would be the first Fiberglass Boat that I will ever try to Redo.....It just looks like wrapping carpeting around the hatches and storage doors will be very difficult. Plus the large areas to be carpeted make it easy to make a mistake...I was thinking of ripping off all the old carpeting and sand the area and remove all old glue and old carpet and maybe refinish with a textured paint or possibly add vinyl.... Please
if anyone has redone a tuffy please let me know, as I would really like to redo this boat.....thanks Mike
