Subject: RE: Jeep Wrangler Unlimited As Tow Vehicle

I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I used it as a tow vehicle for my Ranger 681 (which, sadly, I no longer have). I used the Jeep to pull the Ranger from the Green Bay area to Vermilion and to the Alexandria, MN area. I also used it to pull two snowmobiles from the Green Bay area to the Alexandria, MN area. Not longer after these experiences, I traded in the wife's Subaru for a Ford Expedition EL.

At the ramp, the Jeep cannot be beat! Short wheelbase, great visibility (especially with the top off), and the best four wheel drive out there. Anywhere else, pulling is not much fun. I love my Jeep. But it is not a great tow vehicle. That motor is a bit of a dog to begin with, in my opinion, and pulling anything beyond a 14 foot aluminum boat (which I've also done), it's working way too hard, and trying to get up Miller Hill in Duluth was not pretty.

Now the Expedition...I can pull the Queen Mary with that thing...
