You do need to watch the amount of weight you add. We put in a sheet and a half of 3/4" marine ply wood for the floors and deck and a half of a sheet of 3/8" 8ply marine grade weighing just under 100 pounds plus carpets. It has a 1998 15 horse evenrude on it and does about 20 with two guys and gear. It originally had an older 9.9 on it and struggled to plane out. I will say the low center of gravity and added weight definitely stabilized the boat for casting.
