Location: With my son on the water | I just had the EXACT same problem a month ago during a 3 week fishing trip. This is what we did.
1. We thought it was a stuck relay so we changed the relay out. Still happend.
2. Now we started to think it was a switch. Unplugged the one on the motor. Still happened.
3. Now we start to think (when is this happening? We determined it was early in the morning when dew was on the boat or after a rain. (We taped a plastic bag over the shifter on the console) It never happened for the next 2 1/2 week.
When I got home I got the switch and changed it out (it is kind of a pain). The other thing I did is put a (automotive heavy duty battery switch on my main battery so I can shut everything of when I am not attending the boat)
Your problem my be different, but it sure sounds like a switch. When I talked to the dealer about it he said they actually replace a lot of switches.
I hope this helps. |
