Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Landry- The Minn Kota chargers have all of the right features including the automatic maintenance mode, where the charger shuts off automatically and turns back on as needed to maintain the battery at full charge (technically = hysteresis loop charging). Other chargers typically only have float mode for maintenance- long term float mode causes positive plate grid corrosion (bad for battery life & capacity). The word "linear" is probably a marketing term, i.e., so they can differentiate from other designs. LOL

The MK 210D is a dual bank 5A charger - each battery/bank gets 5A. That might be OK if you are not a heavy trolling user user, recharge of a typical 100AH marine deep cycle will take ~22hrs if its deeply discharged. This is how a lot of guys kill their batteries on long trips or the battery(s) just seems to crap out at the end of the trip - they are not getting recharged because the charger is to small. I personally use 2x 15A chargers on my 24V TM batteries (2x12V).
As with everything, you usually get what you're willing to pay for! If bucks aren't an issue and you have dual 100AH batteries...
