What rectifier is going to fry?

There is absolutely no reason to disconnect your batteries when charging them.

I always have a bank of an onboard charger for my cranking battery. Charge it along with the TM batteries after every trip, no matter. Only time I ever had a cranking battery problem was when the charger for that battery failed. I also carry jumper cables that plug into the rear TM recpt. Easy to make, and store.
