Si or regular 2d sonar--some of the DI units dont have the capability to use the 83 frequency for their 2d and hence the coverage area of the sonar beam is much narrower. Si is great especially in shallow water, but you do have to be moving. DI is what I use the least...its just a pretty picture, I find 2d much more functional for actually fishing. As long as it has gps and good 2d im happy on the bow.
