ok so the only thing that gets hooked up to trolling motor batteries is the trolling motor. Also, why would you run batteries on a 24 volt system parallel? You should have a bridge running from neg to pos, and the pos wire on one battery and the neg wire on the other battery on the terminals that are not hooked up to the bridge. That is what creates a 24 volt system.
I do not think it matters but do you run an in-line fuse on your positive wire on your bird? I only ask because I know that bird does not send one with the graph. Otherwise have you had any issues with your cranking battery?? It is not normal for your graph to freeze up like that, I run two on my cranking battery and never have an issue. Most of the time if you start your motor and your graph shuts off your battery is getting old. Perhaps go and get your battery load tested, or else put a full charge on it and then put a voltage meter on it.
