I would be happy you had them in battery boxes!! I would also look to the charger not shutting off when charged. Or rate of charge being too high causing the battery to boil. Check your charger also. Then ask yourself how do you charge? Do you go out for 4-5 hours and come in and put on charger? One of my rigs uses two deep cycles in par wiring. You can get 2-3 days on a charge depending on the weight of the boat. If it is a question put a volt meter in line so you can see battery charge levels. Cheap gauge.
