That's overkill.

This is about the best picture I have that shows the simplicity of mine to give you an idea. Where the guys are kneeling you can see the wood "boxes" as I call them and notice that they are in two pieces.

They are almost perfectly square and slide into the tub on mine which is a '99 Lund Mr. Pike. I only have a piece of 2x2 on each corner of those platforms for 4 total. I did put diagonal support pieces in to sturdy them up a little bit but that wasn't to support weight, it was to hold the legs in place so that if something bumped against them they wouldn't get out of whack.
