Location: Minnesota: where it's tough to be a sportsfan!		More than likely you have sand in the seal area from loading and off loading the boat. I have gone out in open water and have run the motor up and down a few times to remove the grit. I never let it get too bad though, when I hear it I try to get it cleared.
