Hiya,

If the ambient temperature is below 50 degrees or so, the fluid is thicker and cannot flow as fast as the trim unit works. I had this same thing on my 2003 yamaha 90. when it warmed up, the sound went away.

I think your trim unit is running just fine. It is the same sound mine would give until things warmed up.
