That depends completely on how much you use them and what type of conditions you are subjecting the trailer to.

The more miles the sooner and if you run in salt, dust or mud.

In the heavy equipment industry bearings are changed out every year in the off season. In a normal automobile it may never be needed.

If you are having problems, definetely change them 100% now as they will not get better. This can be done yourself. Is is a messy job but not hard, they key is lots of rags and make 100% sure you have everything 100% clean and 100% free of any grit or sand when they go back together. You also want to put all new components in too, even if they look good.
