| This may or maynot help, but if you already have a decent unit in another boat (i do not know if you have another boat, so its an assumption on my part) Go and buy another transducer and mounting bracket. The just switch the head unit from one boat to the other when needed, it would work great for you since you said it doesnt get used very much.
I bet you can find those parts online for less than the cost of another unit that would just sit around most of the time. Just a thought
