It's 2013. Mercury came out with a 455-lb 150 4 stroke in 2012 that has received fantastic reviews. I haven't seen anyone other than you claim it's louder than an ETEC. Even the die-hard ETEC guys admit 4Str are quieter. For many people, that doesn't matter.

They're both great engines. Both have strengths and weaknesses. No need to make stuff up about one or the other.
