Easiest way is to load them into an hds unit which will turn your icons into waypoints for you. Export them back out to a chip and convert them over. There is another, longer way using gpsbabel that does the same thing that go as follows.

1.load up gpsbabel.org(free, load the program that works for your computer.
2.format device=lowrance.usr
3.options=leave blank
4.next line=hit little paper clip looking icon to select file to load and select file.output section
5.format device= lowrance.usr
6.options=leave blank
7.next line= type in the name you want to save file under.
8.I had waypoints and tracks checked.
9.I hit filter and in the popup had transform checked and switched the box to "tracks->waypoints hit ok
10.click let's go. saved
11. To check to make sure it worked I opened up lowrance Gdm and opened the file that was saved Open up waypoint list and the icons are labeled.
Transfer waypoints to humminbird or whatever else.

Hope this helps
