I've got to agree with wicked above...last year I went to the dark side and put an iPilot on my 16 foot aluminum tiller. If you troll at all, it is unbelievable. There is no way I could ever go back. Following one direction with auto pilot is great and spot lock is worth the extra cost itself. If you're on a budget and can't afford it then no. But I probably use the gas motor less than 20% of the time and the iPilot the other 80% and its a must for me.
