Hey guys,

Here is my question for those of you who run tiller boats:

Besides using a rope or having hydraulic steering, what techniques have you come up with to keep your outboard from "moving" while using either the bow or transom mount trolling motors.

In the past I have simply raised the motor out of the water completely - and this worked fine with my old Honda 50 because it had a short tiller arm but, I put a 2012 E-TEC on this fall and the tiller arm is much longer so tilting it up all the way works - but the tiller arm gets in the way and the skeg seems to drag because the shaft is a few inches longer. Looking for some ideas on how to keep the motor from moving side to side in wave action etc..
