I bought a Lowrance ice pack and rigged up my 520C for ice use this year. It works pretty well. I still somewhat prefer a standard flasher read out, but had no problem catching crappies suspended 30 feet down over 50 feet of water with it. I actually haven't used the GPS feature on the ice yet (I need to get another fuse holder) but see no reason why it shouldn't work well.

One word on the Lowrance Ice Pack - you'll still need to get a power cord and with the kit also need an adapter cord to go from the uni plug to blue plug units. The power cords are about $40 and the adapter cable is 35-40. I pulled a power cord from my boat and found an adapter cable on ebay for $15.

If I had known all that I probably would have made a carrying case and just bought the other ice ducer that comes with blue plugs.
