The new Lowrance mapping software was developed by a law school buddy of mine and his friend under the name Contour Innovations. Only practical way to get it out to fishermen was to team up with one of the major electronics manufacturers. Guy quit his job at a twin cities law firm and spent two years living on Ramen to make it happen. Don't whine about paying a little to make your own lake maps.
