My garage is 20ft 6in. My tuffy 1700 with the tongue "collapsed" comes in at right around 19ft 3in. I used to have a tuffy magnum(it was on a 1994 trailer with no swingable tongue) and I had to angle it a little bit to get in to fit in the garage. I would say the tongue saves you a bit more than a foot.
