I have painted cars for 20 plus years and one of the best products is Finesse II by 3M its a light white compound you can use on plastic also and use with a buffer then apply your favorite wax after, I think the post above was trying to remember the name, I don't buff my alum. boat maybe once every other year but this product workx very well and on gel coat boats if ya wanna make it look as good as new this is the product for it. If you dont have a buffer you can use by hand for your dull areas. Also like to wipe my boat off after pulling it out of the water.
