| Yeah, I was mucking around trying to network my two HDS units. Had "most" of the ethernet backbone kit (forgot I scavenged it to get an older unit going with external puck) and couldnt get anything to work, not proper connections. So I went on the search.
In the end, for me right now I just bought the ethernet cable to connect the two units. Pretty slick, didnt have to do anything other than connect them and all my waypoints transferred over. IDK about my tracks though, perhaps they are there just not active. I need to dig into that further.
The one thing I learned is that NMEA is the way to go if you want to share GPS or Sonar. If you want waypoints, then ethernet. So, in the end I will be going the route of NMEA probably in the offseason if/when I get structurescan. I have been thinking about a LGC4000 too to I can mount that near the transom where my console transducer is, to make things more precise. Lots of options, lots of money.  | |
