| I run a 617 with a 125 2 stroke merc on it. It will do 40 with just me in it and calm water. I always figured the ideal motor would be a 140 Suzuki four stroke. But I've talked to the guys at Frankie's, including one guy who used to own a 617, and they all swore by the 115 four stroke for this boat. You definitely would lose some hole shot, but they said its almost negligible and you gain the ability to troll way down with your main motor. That said, if I ever repower, I'll find myself a 140 suzuki.
