That motor has a oil atomizer on it and mixing gas in tank will not give you your proper oil to gas ratio, that's what evinrudes customer service said. Had a 91 60HP evinrude with the oil pump problem , after researching problem found that even changing pump is still not a safe bet. They still did not fix problem in pump. If it is still working I wouldn't change it, you got a good one.
