Other than as a safety measure on a huge lake where you will be 10 to 50 miles away from the dock, there is no purpose in having a kicker on a small boat with a motor that can troll down. Put an electric stern mount on first for slower trolling if you need it. To be functional you'd need a 6 to 9.9 to troll muskies I'd bet. Ran a 4 on one of my boats with a 20" transom once in an emergency but it wasn't worth the effort to put it on, as it was a short shafted 4 and did an excellent job as an eggbeater foaming the water to a deliscoius froth.
