Location: Forest Lake, Mn. | Yup! Boat packages are expensive. Get something that works well for YOUR fishing. Something you're happy with. That is the key. Shop wisely for your needs.
All boat packages are a compromise. You have to figure out how you fish and where you fish then find the rig that fufills those needs.
I could have bought a Ranger Fisherman when I bought my Alumacraft. Actually I've as much cash into my Alumacraft as I would have put into the Ranger. But the Ranger didnt fufill my needs as well as the Alumacraft did. Many guys thought I was nuts. lol But hey, I like a tiller boat. I like to troll. I do fish Canada and shield lakes and didn't want to worry about scraping a glass boat on the rocks. I like to be able to run the boat from the front or the back. I like floor space and not consoles. I like a wide boat. Yes, I don't have a big back casting deck but for me that didn't matter.
If the Alumacraft your looking at does the job for you then buy it. Remember the rig is about your fishing and no one elses. |
