I just repowered this spring. The 4 strokes aren't that heavier than the 2. I really like that new 150 merc 4 stroke. It all comes down to what you will be doing. I went with a pro xs because I don't troll and would rather run faster than a 4. Both brands are good but the evinrude was $2500 more than what I found a mercury for. Also consider closeness of dealers and scheduled maintenance cost. In my case the merc is actually cheaper in maintenance too.
