you can use a AA or similar type battery to chase speaker wires. Hold one of the wires on one end of the battery and touch the other wires to the other end of the battery. When the speaker sounds scratchy, you have found the two wires for that speaker. Typically the ground wire for the speaker has a stripe. If you use a stronger battery like a 9v, you can also test polarity. If you have it right, the cone will move outward.
