I am looking at buying this motor from a Car Dealership. They dont know much about the boat or the motor, but it appears to be in great shape. The boat did not have a battery in it, so we just hooked up a jumper pack and put a bra on to run water to the motor. It fired up like a champ, blew water out the "pee" hole and sounded great. The only thing is, it would go in gear fine, but if you gave it too much gas it would kill.

There was also very little gas in the tank.

Do you think there is anything to be concerned with? What would cause this motor to kill? After killing, it would fire right back up.
