I had this happen to my powerdrive V2 about 2 years ago. Not exactly the same thing, when I hit my pedal, sometimes I had power, sometimes not. When I brought it in, it was the control module ( or what ever the computer board is called), it cost me about 125-150 total to get it replaced. When I asked what makes them go out, the mechanic said, heavy use in current, and dragging weeds a lot contributes to it going out. It kind of sounds like thats what it might be.
